Corebee answers your line when the desk is restraining a cat, running a checkout and pulling a chart at the same time. Every call opens by saying it is an A.I. — the practice cannot switch that off — and the moment they ask for a person, it puts them through to the number you give us.

Small animal practice
The practice closed at seven. This would normally be a voicemail nobody hears until the morning.
The practice closed at seven. This would normally be a voicemail nobody hears until the morning.
Nobody was there to pick up. The caller got your own after-hours instruction, and the morning team know the cat came through overnight.
The agent speaks in Corebee’s own voice — the same Cartesia voice your phone agent is configured with. The caller is synthesised too, and is not a real customer. A scripted example, not a recording of a real call.
Illustrative scripts, not recordings of real customer calls.
Nearly everyone has been trapped in an automated system that could not understand them and would not let them out. That experience is common enough that “we use real people” is a selling point our competitors build an entire business on.
We think the part they get right is the honesty, and the part they get wrong is the conclusion. What people object to is an AI pretending to be a person. So ours does not pretend. It opens by saying it is an A.I., and it puts you through to a human the second you ask — not after it has tried to help you twice more.
The rest is a question you can only settle by watching it work on your own business. That is what the call is for. If it handles your callers badly, we would rather you found out in 30 minutes with us than in month two on your own.
Every call says it is an A.I. before anything else. Most setups open with “This call will be recorded and processed by an A.I. assistant” and a keypress to continue; set up without that, the agent says it itself. Either way the notice is part of the platform — you can add your own words after it, you cannot remove it.
Asking for a person is a trigger the agent listens for. It puts the caller through to the number you give us, on the first ask — it does not try to help one more time first, and once the transfer is dialling it cannot pull the caller back into the AI. On the phone, an explicit ask is the only thing that triggers a handover, so nothing else is going to grab the call out from under you.
After close, at weekends, and in the twenty minutes when one person is holding a dog for a blood draw, one is on hold with the lab, and there are three people in the lobby. A call that would have rung out or gone to voicemail gets picked up and dealt with instead. How many lines it holds at once is set per practice and starts at five, so we size that with you on the call rather than promising every call at every moment.
Your hours, the species you see, whether you take walk-ins, where you send cases overnight. It states a covered fact plainly and will not invent a number, a policy or a date to fill a silence. It reads the patient's file too, which is how it catches a vaccine that lapsed in June — but it will not price a procedure before the vet has seen the animal.
Speech recognition is set for English spoken with a strong accent — a dedicated English model rather than one that keeps re-guessing which language it is hearing, with a longer pause allowed before it decides the caller has finished. The phone agent is English-only today. Web chat and email handle other languages, but we are not going to tell you the phone does something it does not.
Each call opens a conversation against the number that called, so the morning after, each number that rang is sitting as a conversation in the same inbox as your chats and email, against the caller's contact record. Be clear on what that is: it is the conversation and the number. The phone agent does not write a typed message or a transcript into it. We would rather tell you that here than have you discover it in week two.
What happens to a call: a call you would otherwise have missed comes in. Corebee answers it and tells the caller it is an A.I. assistant. From there the call either goes to a person on your team the moment the caller asks for one, or Corebee handles it — and either way the call arrives in your inbox as a conversation against the caller’s number.
Independent and small-group small-animal practices where appointments are still made by phone, and where one desk is covering a lobby, a scale, a checkout and a line that rings hardest at exactly the moments nobody can get to it — Monday morning, the lunch hour, the last half hour before close. Corporate groups that route their calls to a central contact centre already have an answer to this. This is for the practices that do not, and that lose the caller with a straining cat to whoever picks up second.
$99a month, flat
Answering services are usually sold by the minute with an overage rate on top, so the months your phone is busiest are the months you pay most. This is not priced that way.
Voice is set up with us rather than self-serve. That is a real constraint, and it is why the first step here is a call rather than a signup form.
We build the agent on your practice while you watch — your hours, your services, your after-hours referral — and then ask it the questions your clients actually ask. If it handles them badly, we will say so on the call. We also map out how your line would forward to it: after hours only, after a set number of rings, or all day, whichever you want. Your clients keep dialling the number you already have on the door.
We build the agent live, point it at your real questions, and tell you straight whether it is ready for your callers.
